Parents nowadays want their children to excel in school and will do anything to make sure that he performs well. At home, parents try to buy all sorts of reference and activity books and even set up a small study desk which their child can use. The question is: is it advisable to have a study desk?
Parents should make sure that their child will be using it by simply asking them. Otherwise, it may end up useless and put aside in a corner, expected to be forgotten as years pass by. The best thing to do is to ask our children if they want a study desk and if they will use it. If they are enthusiastic about it, then by all means, go ahead and buy one for your kid. But if the child is not that receptive, then you might want to think twice before asking him again.
Call me old-fashioned, but I want to add a touch of class in my home. A secretary desk would fit right into my home, as I want to inject a bit of nostalgia in my own abode as I look back into those good old days. It is like having my own little office, where I can put all my stuff, books and valuable documents.
While today’s modern world may find no place for this piece of furniture since it may appear out-of-date, having it around is like having a family heirloom where it writes a certain page of my life which can be shared for generations to come. There is more to it than meets the eye, since it was built to endure the test of time, and hopefully, the treasure of memories which it holds and which it later on collects makes it all the more valuable and precious.
